Feridem

The quiet one in the troupe...

Feridem has been fascinated by belly dance for years before she started with Dinah in late fall of 2006. Her first solo was in September of 2008, and she has been performing with Raqs Devadasi since their official debut in October of 2009 at the All Seasons Hafla.

Both co-founders of the Raq'uettes, Naja Haje and Feridem, have often joked about forming a comedy troupe. Looks like they made good on it!

Feridem has taken workshops and lessons from Dinah, Amustela, Shahrzad, Shiraz, Persia, Habiba, Shushanna and others, and hopes to expand greatly on her knowledge in the upcoming years. Her style is mostly Egyptian, but she delves into other areas, depending on how the music speaks to her and how creative she can get. Most of her solo costumes are made by her and her teacher, Dinah.

Feridem is a usually a quiet person, but you know what they say about quiet people! She is currently holding a monthly "Intro to Bellydance" lecture and interactive demonstration at the Brandywine Hundred Library in Wilmington, Delaware.
